After coming across RUNE on youtube I was sold on the genre and thought to give it a try. I've always wanted to dive into them but never made the time. First, as an excuse to learn and play a solo RPG. I can "play" with and app as I want and you don't think that I not playing it on the correct way. This has been a fun project. Any problem that anybody have with is app is petty. My replaying was harsh because of that percepcion.Ī final thing. Now if you complain (whine) about it on the subreddit app and somebody say "why are you playing on a tablet? Maybe you don't need it", as an answer, is very rude. If you are playing minecraft and you log in and all the work or your last sesion was lost, and that happen 2 or 3 times the game is unusable. I say that I will give up the app if every time that I pic the phone or the tablet there is a big chance that all my work is erase because a sync problem. I'm not giving up the app because I need to pick up my phone. You don't know why I work that way nor I need to justific why I want to use this app on my cel and tablet. Maybe you could work in other way" is very arrogant from my perspective. That you answer "why are you working that way. I will try to explain what my problem with your response is. I'm on the App subreddit, to "whine" about the App, because I lost 4hr of work for a sync problem. I recently made a request for auto-backup syncing every n unit of time so you don't have to manually back your data up every time. It's great but if I have to do local backup for every change I make it is not usable. But if you spot any flaws or lack of feature in cloud-syncing you can tell the dev and he'll try to fix it I hope. I'm not sure how the cloud system works in terms of syncing between devices since I don't plan on ever using it. Regarding syncing, I can't say much about it but I had requested for a localized server-based syncing system but unfortunately due to the dev consisting of just JIeBoP (AFAIK) it can't be done. If you do, I'm sorry but there are no better alternatives to DiN out there, yet. I'd tell you to ask yourself whether you really need the app on your tablet. It becomes a lot less annoying and a lot more fun if you think of it as grinding for blocks in Minecraft (if you're into Minecraft, if not then relate it to some other RPG game you like grinding in). I treat it like a game (the way you are supposed to treat it). I agree that it's quite daunting to input all that data into the app but I'm trying to have my fun with. But since I'm trying to use DiN for all aspects of my days, I mainly operate the app on the phone. I have requested for a desktop version too and in the meantime I'm using an app called SecondScreen and Scrcpy (both are free and open source) to mirror my phone on my computer screen in Desktop mode as an alternative (you can also use a VM, but that comes with a few syncing issues), hell, if you have one of the later samsung devices you can use its built-in Dex feature to covert the system to desktop view. Just why? I get the reason behind having it on a big screen. Honestly I don't see the point of having the app on your phone, computer AND tablet. But I spent 4 hours uploading everything and due to poor timing it was lost. I know I must have generated a local backup and all that. But when I synchronized my tablet it took the database from the tablet and uploaded it to the cloud, deleting more than 80 tasks that I had uploaded. The really frustrating part is that I did it on my computer and synchronized my cell phone and everything worked great. I have an emulator on my computer that allows me to do it on my laptop, which is much better. Defining the skills, the groups, the points of 100 tasks on the cell phone is out of my reach and patience. I have more than 100 tasks that I want to upload, so doing it on the cell phone is tortuous. I am subscribed and I have given a small extra contribution.īut I must say that constantly using the application is frustrating. Having skills, characteristics and the way the app ties everything together seems great to me.
